Archeology

To better plan and design for our future we need to understand the knowledge and wisdom of our collective past.

As an archeologist I worked from excavation and mapping to artifact curation and scientific illustration. I have worked with indigenous communities to restore and document their archeological heritage, such as the restoration of ceremonial pyramids at Uaxactun in Guatemala, and assisted in the construction of village schools and community centers.

I was a crew chief with an archeological field school in Peru, whose mission focused on the prehistory of the region while fostering heritage projects with the descendent Quechua-speaking communities.

I maintain ongoing collaboration with these communities and continue to work with them to further our understanding of the ancient past as we plan for their future.
